“Mary’s Book Club” returns, and this time, Katie Asher is talking about the novel she co-wrote with her nonspeaking son, Houston. She begins by telling the story of how her son regressed after vaccination and the difficulties that followed: “That period of my life…it was perpetual trauma.” Then, Katie explains the drastic change that happened after Houston began using a letterboard to communicate — despite her skepticism that this intervention would actually work for their family. She also talks about spirituality, neurology, diagnosis and more. Viewers, you won’t want to miss this fascinating conversation!
