Ben Edwards, M.D. was on the front lines of the West Texas measles outbreak last year. And now with news of more cases of the virus across the country and two supposed deaths, his perspective is well worth listening to. Today, Dr. Edwards brings up the potential of underreporting, simple treatment strategies, symptomology, lack of support or proper response from federal and state health agencies and the truth about diagnosis and “cause of death.” Tune in!
Also: “Mary’s Book Club” returns, and this time, Katie Asher is talking about the novel she co-wrote with her nonspeaking son, Houston. She begins by telling the story of how her son regressed after vaccination and the difficulties that followed: “That period of my life…it was perpetual trauma.” Then, Katie explains the drastic change that happened after Houston began using a letterboard to communicate — despite her skepticism that this intervention would actually work for their family. She also talks about spirituality, neurology, diagnosis and more. Viewers, you won’t want to miss this fascinating conversation!
