WHO WATCH: Virtual Press Conference on Trends in Maternal Mortality 2000-2023

‘WHO is releasing Trends in maternal mortality 2000-2023 on behalf of the United Nations Maternal Mortality Estimation Inter-Agency Group. The report will be released on World Health Day on 7 April, which this year is dedicated to maternal and newborn health.
‘The report provides global, regional and country-level estimates for maternal deaths. As well as showing where these deaths are happening and varying levels of progress around the world, this will also be the first global report to capture the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on maternal survival.’
