WHO WATCH: Virtual Press Conference on COP29, Climate and Health | Nov. 7

Subject: Climate, health and COP29 in Baku, and the launch of WHO's COP29 special report on climate change and health Ahead of COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan (11 to 22 November), WHO will present its new key documents, brief on health initiatives at COP29 and discuss health arguments for immediate and decisive action by climate negotiators.

‘WHO will launch two new documents at the press conference, the COP29 special report on climate change and health – Health is the argument for climate action and the Quality criteria for integrating health into Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

‘In these key documents, WHO stresses the importance of positioning health at the core of all climate negotiations, strategies, policies and action plans, to save lives and secure healthier futures for present and future generations.’
