When people become police officers, they put their lives on the line to protect their communities. They seek to uphold the law, respond to emergencies and preserve peace in schools, parks, businesses, roadways and homes. And when their own freedoms come under attack, officers are forced to either compromise for the so-called “greater good” or leave their careers as public servants.
