First off: The right to opt out of immunizations for school attendance and in the workplace has been under attack for many years. During COVID, countless individuals were put out of a job or kicked out of their university because of their vaccination status. Those years are behind us — and yet, the discrimination continues. Recently, the American Academy of Pediatrics released a policy statement advocating for the elimination of all non-medical exemptions from these shots in educational settings. A circulating bill in Massachusetts also seeks to accomplish a similar goal concerning children in their state.
