DAVOS WATCH: ’Dedollarization or Redollarization?‘
Credit: World Economic Forum
‘For decades, the dollar and US financial markets have served as the cornerstone of the global economy, dominant in trade, investment and reserves. However, some countries are seeking to hedge against exchange-rate volatility and geopolitical risk by decreasing their dependence on the dollar, while others are exploring redollarization to stabilize their economies and address hyperinflation.
‘As financial nationalism gains momentum, are these dynamics a cyclical rebalancing or the emergence of a truly multi-currency era?’
