‘Nauseating’ FDA VRBPAC Recommends Pfizer’s RSV Vaccine for Pregnant Women Despite Premature Birth Signals + Antigen Interference
Ten advisors voted yes, and four advisors voted no.
Chair of the Committee Dr. El-Sahly voted no and advocated for research into “vaccines that don’t interfere with other antigens, and, potentially, should this signal [premature births] be true, safer vaccines.”
Dr. Paul Offit also voted no. “I do think a lot’s at stake,” he expressed. “If you’re in any sense risking premature births with this vaccine, I think there will be a big price to pay.”
