Communication Strategies to Build Trust and Address Misinformation

CHD.TV offers a wide range of content pertaining to children's health. We regularly stream hearings, meetings and lectures from the World Economic Forum, National Institutes of Health, World Health Organization and other entities to keep you up to date the tactics and ideologies of those who influence public health, though Children's Health Defense may not have any affiliation with these organizations or individuals.

‘In this recorded webinar, the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) and the Coalition for Trust in Health & Science host a webinar discussion on the importance of effective communication strategies in building trust and addressing misinformation about vaccine-preventable diseases. Speakers share practical strategies to build trust with patients and caregivers and promote evidence-based care.

‘NFID Medical Director Robert (Bob) H. Hopkins, Jr., MD, moderates the discussion with Erin O’Malley, Executive Director, Coalition for Trust in Health & Science, and NFID Director Jean-Venable (Kelly) R. Goode, PharmD, Professor and Director of the Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program at Virginia Commonwealth University.

‘At the conclusion of the activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the burden of vaccine-preventable diseases in the US
  • Describe strategies to identify mis- and disinformation
  • Implement practical communication strategies to help build trust with patients and caregivers and increase vaccine confidence’
