Legal Loopholes, Liability Shields, Vaccine Policy and Independent Oversight: MAHA Media Call
TOP TALKING POINTS FROM THE CALL
- Legal loopholes in food and drug definitions let corporations market unhealthy products as “food.” Similarly, recent changes to the vaccine definition narrowed its requirements, no longer mandating that vaccines actually produce immunity. We need to return to definitions that sustain life and promote repair.
- Liability shields allow companies to sell harmful products like paraquat in the U.S. without accountability. These harmful chemicals are making Americans sick while enriching these companies. It's time to end these legal protections.
- Vaccine policy is shifting, with most parents and healthcare workers rejecting the COVID vaccine and renewed focus on informed consent and state-level regulation. This is especially relevant today, as the ACIP is meeting to review recommendations for COVID-19, hepatitis B, MMRV, and RSV vaccines.
- Independent oversight is in desperate need as pharmaceutical companies are working to extend drug patents and shut down affordable alternatives. At the same time, the CDC operates from a building gifted by Coca-Cola, illustrating the depth of institutional capture.
Features Mary Holland, Michael Kane, Russell Brand and others.
