‘In this important episode of The Mel K Show, I am honored to welcome Mary Holland, President of Children’s Health Defense. Mary has been on the front lines for decades, working to protect children from environmental toxins, corporate negligence, and policies that put profits over health. Her organization has become a leading voice for accountability, transparency, and real science in protecting the health of our future generations. ‘Mary shares the story of how Children’s Health Defense began, evolving out of the earlier World Mercury Project. That initiative fought to remove mercury from medical products, and while it took far too long, that mission was accomplished. But the work did not end there. Children’s Health Defense took on a broader scope, exposing the many toxic elements harming children today—whether from food, pesticides, environmental pollution, or electromagnetic radiation.
‘Her fight is also personal. Over 20 years ago, Mary’s young son experienced a severe adverse reaction that led to a diagnosis of autism. As a lawyer and an advocate, she made it her mission to investigate how such harm could occur without accountability. What she discovered was a system designed to shield those responsible from liability. The pharmaceutical industry, doctors, and government agencies operate under legal protections that remove their incentive to ensure safety or to admit when harm has occurred.
‘Children’s Health Defense has worked tirelessly to challenge this broken system, to demand rigorous scientific standards, and to bring attention to the chronic health epidemic affecting more than half of American children. Their work is not limited to one area. They investigate multiple environmental and technological threats, including toxic agriculture, dangerous chemicals, and geoengineering projects.
‘Mary and I discuss how her team uses litigation, education, and investigative research to hold powerful institutions accountable. We explore recent campaigns and lawsuits that aim to restore integrity to public health policy, protect parental rights, and safeguard future generations from the unchecked influence of corporations and captured agencies.
Here is what you will learn in this episode:
‘Mary’s message is clear: protecting children requires courage, persistence, and the willingness to challenge powerful systems that profit from harm. This is not a partisan fight. It is a moral responsibility shared by all who care about the well-being of the next generation. ‘This conversation will leave you informed, motivated, and ready to stand with those who refuse to be silent. When we expose the truth, hold wrongdoers accountable, and demand change, we can protect our children and ensure a healthier, freer future for all.’
