U.S. EPA Children’s Health Protection Advisory Committee Meeting | Oct. 30

Meeting Objectives:

• Provide updates on the EPA Office of Children’s Health Protection’s programmatic activities • Present an overview of the EPA’s Cumulative Impacts activities and discuss CHPAC input on targeted children’s health considerations • Discuss the Draft National Strategy to Prevent Plastic Pollution, learn about the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on Plastic Pollution’s development of an international plastics treaty and present the CHPAC plastics charge • Delve into the recent EPA regulations pertaining to lead: o Final Rule on Lead and Copper Rule Improvements o Dust-Lead Hazard Standards and Dust-Lead Post-Abatement Clearance Levels • Report out on the CHPAC recommendations on lead information resources for low- and middle-income countries, per the joint EPA/UNICEF charge • Discuss plans and opportunities for future EPA analyses and products on climate change and maternal health
