Farm to Table and the PRIME Act

Have you ever wondered why it is so difficult to find local meat, like ground beef or chicken, in grocery stores? Did you ever wish that your favorite restaurant served steak from a farmer in your state? Has it ever seemed strange to you that hotels have bacon shipped in from across the country or overseas just so they can serve it at their complementary breakfast? If so, you’re not alone. The PRIME Act was filed back in 2023 as a means of breaking down these kinds of barriers between livestock producers, consumers and businesses. Pete Kennedy, Esq. and Meryl Nass, M.D. explain the details during the second half of today’s show.
