Are CDC's Priorities Restoring Public Trust and Improving the Health of the American People? | July 23

Washington, D.C. — House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Subcommittee on Health Chair Brett Guthrie (R-KY) announced a Subcommittee hearing titled “Are CDC's Priorities Restoring Public Trust and Improving the Health of the American People?”

“Of all the government agencies that have broken the public’s trust, the CDC is at the top the list. Unfortunately, the agency’s current priorities—like climate change and social determinants of health—do not instill confidence that the agency is focused on its core mission of improving public health and preventing the spread of diseases,” said Chairs Rodgers and Guthrie. “This hearing will give our Members an opportunity to hear directly from CDC officials on what steps the agency is taking to regain public trust and protect the health and wellbeing of the American people.”
