"In modern times, convenience has taken precedence over quality when it comes to planting, processing, purchasing and preparing food. Consumers want the easiest option, no matter the cost. They may compromise on the environmental impact or treatment of animals, toxin content or nutritional value, in order to appease their appetites. But how does this impact population health? How does this affect farmers and ecosystems and the economy? We overlook the short- and long-term implications of our “instant gratification” culture, much to the detriment of current and future generations.
Joel Salatin of Polyface Farms has a lifetime worth of knowledge on the various components that are at play when it comes to what we eat. His topic at this year’s event is geared towards you, the customer. Listen in for simple ways to support farmers and save money along the way! "
